Happy 64th...

It's our 64th monthliversary tmr! Keke. Yeah yeah. 64 months of being a couple. Wooo. Over the 5-year mark already.

Time flies so fast. Does one year really feel like one year to you? I don't know. Perhaps happy times always feel shorter, while gloomy times always feel longer.

We took these pics at Marina South on our 28th monthliversary, which was on 29th Nov 2005. That's almost exactly 3 years ago. WoWWW! I wonder if jw even remembers we took all these pics with our newly bought camera at that time. Keke.

Anway, monthliversaries are special to us. And we will always wish each other "Happy XXth Monthliversary, dear!" For a guy (hmmm, I mean, gals are generally better with dates than guys, right??), jw is quite good with dates and he seldom forgets them. Hehe. Not that I will eat him up if he does. But it does feel nice to just receive a wish like that. Sometimes he brings me out for nice dinner, or we will catch a show, or once in awhile he buys flowers though I'm not a big fan of flowers because I think they die too fast and it's not value for $$. Sometimes he gives me a little card, and those with doggie pics on them are soo cute! =)

For me, I used to give him a prezzie every month. Haha. Yeah. Used to. Before he came to Sweden last year April. I think I was more creative in my gifts back in Singapore, and on the 29th of each month I will prepare a mini prezzie especially for him. Cards, odd-shaped photo frames, teddy bears with his name sewn on it, 'vouchers' for him to redeem like a free session of massage or white hair-plucking, funny videos, photo albums, scrapbooks, mock magazines etc... Cards were the easiest, cos' with a colour printer I can print out a photo and then just scribble some words on it. Waha. The point is, I wanted to jot down a thing or two that was special in that month. Like things we did, or words we said, or even bickers we had, and always encouraged him and myself to move on and hold on to our love tightly as ever.

But after he came Sweden, I only sent him gifts on his bdays. Waha. Yeah. From every month to once a year. *guilty* For a while, he kept asking bout his monthly prezzies, and I guess eventually he gave up on me. HAHA. Well. BUT, I picked up the tradition again when I came here, to Sweden. And yes, for the past two months, I made him super simple cards becos' I think I ran out of creative juice. Do our brains gets rusty when we haven't used them for long? I sure hope not!!

I hope I can always think of special things to make for him. So yesterday, while I was pom-poming, I thought of an idea. Something I have not done before. Keke. Ta-dah!!

Yeah. Air tickets!! Waha. Mock air tickets, of coz. =) Since we are going on our honeymoon next month. Mi tang yue liang! So I decided to include some memories of our fairytale wedding. =) Like dates, photoshoot pics, nicknames, our ring logo etc. Sometimes he laughs at my childish-ness and my wacky prezzies, but I know he likes all of them. Keke. So, the time now is 2pm and I think he will be back soon and ta-dah, I can surprise him with a hug and his prezzie. Hope it will help to cheer up his day. =)

To many more monthliversaries ahead of us.. Happy 64th!!!

Kall och ensam...

Kall och ensam means cold and lonely.. I think this describes me well tonight.. =)

Why cold? Because it's under zero degrees outside..

Why lonely? Because jw is out of town for these two days and I am on my own to do the following:

- to eat (I ate sushi and lor mai gai)

- to drink (I drank milo and plain water)

- to watch tv (which I didn't since he's not around to watch the dramas/movies together and it's no fun watching alone)

- to pom pom (yes, I did bathed)

- to cook (no one for me to cook for, and it defeats the purpose of me cooking)

- to do my teaching materials alone (not that he will help me do it, but I always show him after I print out the stuff to share my excitement. Well. No one around tonight to see my word cards and the homework I did for the kids)

- to zzzzz.. (shuang shuang doesn't like to sleep alone.. esp. when it's on a cold cold nite..)

Perhaps it's good that I had Jap lessons from 10am all the way to 5plus including my lectures and project work, with small breaks in between. So it kinda kept me occupied just doing the homework and online tests, attending the classes and having discussion with my coursemate. Btw the replacement teacher today spoke like the Japanese bullet train. Whoooosh. Really couldn't understand much. Plus every week there are so many new vocabs to memorize. My memory is failing me. Muz ganbatte ne....

Oh, and being alone reminds me of the times in S'pore when I was doing the wedding planning and staying up till 2plus almost every nite to do the wedd videos and all. SO, I decided to start doing a video for my beloved jie meis as a prezzie for X'mas this year since I won't be back for any gift exchange. Boohoo. Yeah yeah, i love doing videos!! But real simple ones lar. =) Sure hope they will like it and hope I can finish it before i fly for NY.

Well, guess I gotta get used to being alone. Jw said next year onwards he will be out quite often and I might be alone for weeks. Arggghhh. It's just so different being alone, and being with another person you love so much. Hope he comes back safe and sound. Miss ya dear!!

Cherry blossom! One day, I will visit you in Japan.. hehe..

Dandelion...

Remember this song? It was so popular during my secondary days, when Chen Hanwei was acting as Fang Lao Shi. =) If I don't remember wrongly, I think our class sang this together in some teacher's day singing competition back in AHS, together with Boyzone's "All That I Need". At first, I thought that pu gong ying refers to a bird when I first heard of it, because it says it can fly. Keke. But well. Neh. I realized it's a deeper meaning than that. It refers to dandelions instead. And somehow, this word pu gong ying left a deep impression in me ever since. It's a nice-sounding chinese word too!

Tips from Wu Lao Shi \^o^/:
So, I decided to learn the piano again and play a song related to Pu Gong Ying. Hee. To Teresa: I also wanna learn to play Shuo Hao De Xing Fu Ne, but I haven't found the score and I think it will be too hard for me to learn also. Keke. But here's another Jie Lun song which I really like too. Hope you will like it too. =)

It's Zero degrees outside. Keke. Can you imagine? It was snowing in the afternoon today. Waha. Playing piano in the snow, so shi qing hua yi! =p Lalala. And yesh, we finally dragged our winter tires from the storeroom to the car repair shop and got the tires changed. Now we won't skid on the icy roads liaoz. Keke.

My dream now: To build a igloo when the snow is thick enough and let me and jw hide inside. Waha. Don't think it's impossible k. My Swedish coursemate said he did it with his sis. Keke. =)

Jaa Mata!! =)

p/s: I wonder if my baby niece rena is born liaoz.. I would think it's this week worrr.. so exciting!! =p I'm an official auntie!!!

We're on our way, baby!

Yippie yay!! Finally, jw and I booked the internal flights and our hotels for our honeymoon trip to US. Woho. =) Yes, I still wanna call it my honeymoon trip and I'm really excited bout it becos it's our first holiday after our wedding and we're going to a country which I've never been before! Check it out. I love this phrase, after we booked our hotel (Circus Circus!) in LV, it says: "You're on your way to Vegas, baby!" Woho.. Makes me high.. =)

So ta-dah!! We're going to spend 3 days 3 nights in LV! Woho. Just thinking bout staying in the Strip makes us excited. Keke. And we got a good bargain for a hotel located on the Strip, and it's buy 2 nights get 1 night free! Woho. Keke. Average only US$47 per night. So much cheaper than I thought it would be. Keke. But I guess the point is to entice more people to go and stay and then lose their money away in the casinos. Waha. Can you imagine it? There are over 3700 rooms in our hotel alone. Just 1 out of the hundreds of hotels. WOW.

Ta-dah! Circus Circus! Hope we will really get to see acrobatic performances and try out the indoor adventurous rides. Woohoo. And of coz, go in search of our favourite Carribean Stub and Three-Card Poker at the tables. =)

And I finally understood why Jack and Joy got married after they got drunk in Vegas, in the movie. Hee. Becos I saw that almost every hotel had a wedding chapel and you can perform your wedding ceremony there! Haha. Sounds easy. =) Woooo... oh and yesh, we are still waiting for baby ashton or baby angel to arrive. So far, it feels harder than striking 4D. I wonder why so many of the wives can 'tio' so easily. Hmmm. Waha. But anyway, precisely now that we are still in our own er ren shi jie, so we should go to Sin City. Waha. And drink and party and gamble and get merry and be high! Next time when got family liaoz then it won't be so easily achievable already. Right, jw? Guess we think alike bah. =) Vegas Vegas!!

Of coz, the hype isn't on Vegas alone. I am also super looking forward to NYC and LA! =) Keke. I dunno how er jiu jiu's house will look like in New York, so I don't have any pics to post here. But I'm sure it'll be great to spend Xmas with them and with little cousin Trisha. =) Hee. And on Boxing Day, we will set forth to LA! Hee. And then we will have time on our own, just the two of us, to explore and eat and shop and play! We'll be staying in the inn above, just 27 rooms in total. (yeah, compare to over 3700 in LV, ha!). It's not a high class hotel, but it should be good enough for us to rest our heads at nites. Need to save! My poor darling works so hard to save money and now that I ain't contributing much, I really can't and won't hiam anything. Keke. Lalala. Good thing is we will be situated right in Hollywood. Woohoo. Should be quite happening, I guess, and we'll spend New Year Countdown somewhere round here. Hee.

And yesh, we will get a chance to go Disneyland together! Hee. Yayyyy. I love the Tokyo disneyland, and I guess LA will be just as good if not better. Hee. And it's going to be Winterland in Disneyland? I dunnoe. Hee. Just hope they won't shut down and won't cancel the fireworks which I missed it the last time due to rainy weather. Sob sob.

We'll be going to Universal Studios too! Yeah, I wanna see behind the movie making scenes. And try out all the thrilling rides! Hehe. Sounds like there are sooo many theme parks in LA, there's also Knotts Berry Farm too. Hmmm. Well, we'll see how many rides our hearts can take and more importantly, how many rides our pockets can afford. Hee. =)

One last place that I also wanna visit is Santa Monica. Hee. Beach! I think both jw and I will like it ley. Beach parties, promenades, night clubs, shopping streets etc. Good that junwei (hee, not my hubby, but his very good buddy with similar name) is staying near Santa Monica and we will be bunking in with him for the last two nights. Yay! The other time he brought us to go clubbing in Taiwan when we met him. That was fun! =) Wish Sandra can join us this time in LA too.

All in all, it's gonna be a great time for us, I guess! We had some minor arguments recently over everything, including the booking of this holiday. Hee. I guess we can't help it, becos' we face each other almost everyday. But we are over it now and we are still very much excited bout our upcoming mi tang yue liang. Yay yay yay! Hope everything will go well and go smooth! Wahaha.

Sure it will! =)

Click click..

A group of my good pals started their very own blog to share with each other happy photos, happy memories, happy experiences.. =) I thought it was simply a great idea! I guess all of them shared a common interest in photography too.. And as the saying goes, a picture can tell a thousand words sometimes.. right? I think so. =)

I'm not an expert at taking pics, even though I LOVE to take pics. Hee. Like many of you out there. It's fun! Woho. Even if there's nothing new or interesting worth taking pics of, I still think there are soooo many thing that can be captured on film. Perhaps that explains why I could take 2000 pics during our Europe trip last year, though ended up it was fated I lost all of them. Anyway, I guess jw should be used to the fact that I would sometimes out of nowhere take out the camera and start snapping and clicking away. Be it during mealtime, or when we go on road trips, or when we try out a new restaurant, or when we are wearing new bought clothes, anything! Woho. He's very nice to never say No when I asked him to take pics together. Hee. And he's quite good at zi pai too! Much better than me. Waha.

Anyway, last nite I decided to take pics of some of the things we have in our house. I like the B&W and sepia feeling of the pics. Woho. Like it really tells a story. =) Lalala.

Our teacup set that we used nearly every nite. Yeah. See the two big cups and a small one? Jw says it means me and him and a BB. Waha. But no, that was not the point. It was there becos jw likes to sip the tea in one small mouthful, so he prefers the tiny china-looking teacup to our couple teacups. Keke.

Woo. The memorable caricature from our ROM. Love it love it love it! Somehow it looks different in the sepia mode. Hmm. More nostalgic I think.

Keke. I hope jw won't be mad that I posted this. But I liked this pic! Hehe. Like a happy child. The look of joy and of serenity. And yeah, I love bubble baths!

Absolut Disco standing tall amidst the rest. Does the B&W pic symbolize the fading away of our once exciting, booze-filled and party-filled livelihood? Haha. Maybe bah. Someone used to call us the best drinkers in hall 6. Those were the times, I guess. Sui yue cui ren lao ah! Haha. Meaning, we are getting old with time. Hoho. But who doesn't. Anyway I like the absolut disco bottle, it's shiny silver in colour, like a disco ball. Keke. We are thinking of finding a disco ball to put in our living room. =) But so far, no luck yet.

Hubby hard at work, doing his online examination (for which the deadline was long overdue. Waha). And wifey staying by his side to support him. Hee. Or rather, distract him. Hmmm.

Our pics on the wall. Did anyone who came to our house tell that those were printed on normal A4 white paper? haha. I dunnoe. But at that time I did not have any photo paper yet, so I printed them on thin normal AA paper.

The dancing couple. My prezzie from deardear. A mini fountain which changes its background colour. I like the pose of the couple. Hehe. So loving.

Well, we don't look at this often. Keke. The 10 rules for a happy marriage. I guess it's cos we are kinda happy enough now. I hope I don't have to refer to this next time too. Woho. Anyway in the first place, are there really any rules in marriage? Just like, rules in life? Hmmm. I'm not very sure.

Woo. This was taken at Nivo. Nice nite out with Jenny, Cat and my hubby. =) Reminds me of the good old times in Singapore. Well. Clubbing sessions are, to me, bonding sessions more than anything else. =)

Lastly, our newly bought bathrobes! Woho. So comfy! Feels loving too, to wear the same thing to bed. Keke. Ehhh, though it can make us feel hot sometimes cos it's quite thick. =) But still, very shu fu. =)

Lalala. That's it for now. Quite alot of dunno-what pics I took. But anyway, what matters is that I follow my heart bah. Wanna take what then take what. Hoho. Xi huan jiu hao, kai xin jiu hao.

Hope the good times can last forever..

p/s: Happy belated bdae Ivy! =) Hope you had a safe trip back to Spore and enjoy your stay there without the freezing winter! =)

A childhood dream..

When I was a child, I had a dream that I will learn to play the piano and play it well. One day, I will stand on the world-class stage and perform in front of my family, my friends, and all the audiences from all around the world. Waha. Yeah, maybe not so kua zhang. But I did want to play the piano well.

Well dreams are dreams, in the end, I didn't even finish Grade One. I remember in kindergarten or lower primary, mummy let me take up some lessons in Changkat CC, but after a while the teacher migrated or something and that was the end of my association with piano. I had a toy piano at home, a very colourful one, and I would still take it out and play it whenever I had the chance, naively hoping that I can still become a piano expert like that.

Anyway, last year, I took up lessons at Yamaha for a couple of months. To learn to read notes, so that in future at least I can try to play simple scores. I led a real hectic life with a full-time job, part-time teaching, piano lessons and wedding-cum-ROM planning. I woke up by 8am everyday, Mon-Fri to work in OMD, Sat to teach in Berries, Sun to go for piano lesson. Yeah plus I still went partying sometimes on Fri and Sat. They say, when you have passion, you don't feel fatigue. I guess it's true, though I don't think I can find that burst of energy I had again. Well, the point is, I made up my mind to pursue after my dream again, a dream that had never left me since childhood.

So, now that I have my own digital piano which I bought for $800 early this year, and I have more time in Sweden to search online for music scores and more time to decipher the notes, I am now learning to play Mandarin pop songs. Woho. Songs that I like, songs that have a meaning to me, songs that strike a chord in my heart everytime I listen to them.

So Ta-Dah. My very first recording of playing the piano. Yeah yeah yeah. And one of my favourite songs. I ain't the best, and yes i made mistakes despite having several takes, but I am happy and touched and proud that I learnt something on my own, and so it's a happiness I wanna share with jw and with my friends. Maybe one day mummy can see this clip too. Will she be proud of me? I hope so. =) Hee. If you realise, I didn't look at the score at all. Because I simply can't look at score and play at the same time. Yar yar yar. Lousy. So what I do is write memorize and play by heart. Waha. I think it's easier for me.

Cheers to many more songs to come in future.. I guess dreams do come true... =) to jw, thanks for being my one and only, but ever so important and faithful audience.. =p

The kitchen art & craft..

I think I am running out of ideas of what to cook for lunch everyday.. Better find some time to look at those stack of recipe books or search for online recipes soon bah.. If not it will be so boring for jw to eat the same things.. Hmmm.. But really, cooking is not my forte, though I think now I manage to pass.. hehe..

But well, I try to convince myself everytime that cooking is just like art & craft.. you have to be creative, you have to experiment, and add this and that, mix here and there, till you are satisfied with the end product.. waha.. =) and since I love to do art, so I guess cooking won't be that hard afterall..=) keke.. yar yar yar.. I have low expectations for myself.. Bottomline is: can eat can liaoz..

What we cooked and ate recently

Steamboat! Waha. Jw and I think that it's the easiest thing to cook. All you need is the soup, and to deshell, cut, marinate your ingredients abit. Woho. And it's showtime! It was rare to eat jin zhen gu (my favourite gu!) and toufu, so I really enjoyed that meal. Hehe.

Steamed threadfin. Hehe. First try was toooo spicy. Shucks. Second try was better. See, art & craft! It gets better with practice..

Attempted laksa. Waha. Hmm. Not too bad, but the mi fen was too thin, no like the ones we eat in singapore. Hmmm. I like laksa..

Hoho.. Ma Po Toufu!! With minced meat. I think it was yummy. Waha. Will give my art & craft piece 8 of 10 because I thought it looked nice aesthetically too. Hee. Usually my dishes look kinda normal, or even bad. HAHA. Don't have se xiang wei ju quan.

And for the first time in my life, I tried to cook braised pork. Waha. I'm not a lover of braised stuff, but my hubby is good at braised duck and I guess I better try to pick up the skill too. Then next time can cook braised pig's trotters for my mummy! Waha.

Woooo.. Not self-made, but we bought the dim sum from malmő and steamed it whenever we had the craving. Hee. Char siew bao ley, and har gao and siew mai! Our favourites. I miss Crystal Jade! And I always wonder how they cook their congee till so fine and yummy.. Mummy says it will take me 5-6 hours to cook, and I need a special type of grinded rice, well, so forget it.. Haha..

And one day I had the inspiration to cook fried yam rice because we had yam in our fridge. I dunno what to do with it. Would love to make yam cake aka yu tou gao but I dunno how. And so I tried to fry rice with dried shrimps, mushrooms, pork. Woohoo. Jw said it was delicious and he never fried it before. Yay yay. Score point!

And lastly, I was thrilled that we managed to buy dumplings though they were frozen. So I tried to cook peanut soup. You know, like the Zhen Jie dumplings at Amoy Market. Sweet, milky colour with lots of peanuts!! *drools* Haha. We had peanuts in our cabinet (used for cooking soup), but I didn't know how to peel their skins other than boil them and then remove them one by one by hand. Nicer without the skin ley, and that's how Zhen Jie and the Chinatown tang yuan looked like. So on Thursday, I spent nearly 1.5 hours just removing the skin when instead I should be studying for HOMT assignment the next day. But well, I wanted to let jw drink the first dumpling soup I cooked!Keke. Tang Yuan symbolized Yuan Yuan Man Man. Just like how we ate dumplings on our wedding day. =) Lalala. Happy memories

Well. That's all for now. Till the next time where I get more ideas. Mata!
