Turning 6 months means Angel has been able to do more and more things. =) She can sit better, eat better, grasp things better and also call 'Maaaaa' better. Wahaha. There, my little musician in the making. Hee. I think I am going to teach her to play the piano when she gets older. Hopefully she will love it like I do too. Hmmm. I guess I have to go brush up on playing nursery rhymes then instead of downloading chinese pop songs like I used to. Aiyohhh. If only I still had time to go learn new songs. Keke. But you know what, my digital piano has already moved from our living room (to make room for Angel's high chair) to the guestroom (aka the storeroom now). Haha.
Now that her legs are stronger, she has also started playing on her walker. There, here's what she does while mummy and daddy play badminton. Hee. Angel gets to exercise too! But well, she can only stay there for maybe 15-20 mins. Haha. Not even enough for mummy to sweat. =) Still, it's nice to see her trying to move forward and all, though her toes can barely even touch the floor now.
Lastly, she has also started trying out new tastes too. Biscuits, potatoes, porridge, fish, chicken, apples, pear, banana, avocado, peas, carrot have already been into her tiny stomach. I am looking forward to letting her try new things, it's kinda like a test of creativity trying to come up with new recipes for her. Hee. One heartening thing is she seems to eat heartily and not reject food, and she digs into alot of carbo stuff (like rice cereal, porridge, potatoes), just like us. Like parents, like child!!
P/S: That's also why she's a night owl, just like us again!! No need zzzzzzz!!
Yup, my little girl had her BCG on the very day she turned 6 months. Woho! I think she's a braver girl than me, keke. She only cried a little while before she regained her composure. Kudos! And best is she didn't fall sick after that. Yay.
It's strange, but instead of inserting the syringe in the middle of the arm, the nurses inserted it nearer to the back of the arm, unlike in S'pore. So Angel's BCG mark will be kinda in different position than us and the other usual babies. I had kind of regreted it, but then again, maybe that's what makes Born in Sweden babies more special. Wahaha. Anyway, we just gotta be positive about everything that happens in life, shouldn't we?
I finally can understand how every baby is so special, so unique, so irreplaceable in the eyes of every parent. You kinda think that your own daughter or son is always the apple in your eyes, always the most lovable and most adorable. =) It's like, qing ren yan li chu xi shi, maybe. After all, it's your own flesh and blood, and to every mother, it's the fruit of your labour after all the sweat, the pain, the tears. No wonder babies are so loved. Wahaha. I love babies!! Tata!
It's been long since I fell ill. I think ever since I came to Sweden, I've never had a fever. And flu, at most a couple of times in this one and a half years. Probably the air is better here and since the population is sparse, it ain't that easy to fall sick, unlike in spore.
But well, that said, I'm down with a fever since last night. Last night my temp was 37.9 degrees celsius, and ironically after sleeping and resting today, just now the thermometer measured 39.0 degrees. Uh oh. Sleeping worsened it. Haha.
Baby Angel is down with a cough for the past 1.5 months too, muz be spread by jw who's been coughing badly too. Alamak. Pains my heart to hear my little baby cough so often. But yet, seems like we can't get any medication for babies under 1 year old. Sob. Praying hard she gets well soon.
May all of us get well soon then! I need to go rest, I guess! For Angel's sake, I must definitely recover asap!! Nitey!
Yup, this was the interesting question I was asking jw today. How will you describe me as a fruit and why? I've never thought of using a fruit to describe him either, so we both took awhile to decide on our answers.
So, guess what?
I'm an AVOCADO!
Haha. My first reaction was "What? Avocado looks ugly on the surface, which means I'm ugly! Boohoo!!" Haha. Well. Jw tried to deny that and said that he thinks avocadoes ain't ugly to him, and what's most important is that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. But his point of using an avocado to describe me is that even if the fruit may look simple, plain and nothing special at first, if you get to know it, it's a fruit full of nutritious value and brings about much good to anyone who eats it. Well. At least, that was how I interpret his answer. Waha.
As for me, I also dunno why but my first answer was to describe jw as a TANGERINE.
Same as an avocado, a tangerine looks nothing much at first glance. It's small (not that jw is tiny, but you can't say he's tall either, right?), it may not be all that smooth on the surface (check out his wrinkles and crow's feet!), but it's sweet, juicy and full of vitamin C. Haha. AND, it's something you don't wanna miss out on festive seasons like CNY. Lastly, it's something that you don't get tired of once you start eating it, instead, you can get addicted.
Sounds good? I half made that up as I said my rationale. But well, it still kinds of sounds like how I will describe him. So there you go. Avocado Goh and Tangerine Low. Hmmm. How bout if I wanna describe Angel?
I thought of mango, strawberry, peach and even fig.
But, I decided I will describe her as an APPLE. One of the most basic but yet well-liked fruit. Again, sweet, juicy, delicious and it's what makes the meal complete, just like how she makes our lives complete. And oh yeah, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. She makes me feel in the pink of health! Haha. I mean, with Angel, I will always feel happy, energetic, full of love and passion for her (well, even during my most exhausted moments, I still love her tonnes!). Besides, I can eat an apple everyday but yet still love the fruit. Hee. I can face Angel 24 hours a day and still love her more everyday. Ain't that just apt?
Okie dokie. That was the fruity game, just for fun. =) Till the next post then. Avocado signing off!
Nope, we didn't think bout celebrating it cos' my hubby was sick and so we stayed home to nua all day and ate porridge and mee sua. Well, I asked angel to give me a big kiss though. :p or rather, I gave her many many big wet kisses. Keke.
I love my baby! Though she's making me wake up many times during wee hours to play with her recently, she's still my priceless gem and my beloved baby angel. Hee. Well, till the next Mummy's day! Here's wishing all the mums out there a Happy Mothers' Day and may we stay youthful, slim, pretty and most importantly happy always!!
Yup, so I finally did our london video. It's kinda simple cos' I didn't really manage to capture much fantastic shots. Still, it's good enough for remembrance purposes. Hee.
You know, it really warms my heart when I actually hear that someone likes watching my videos. I mean, they are simple, they are just bout me, my baby, my hubby and our lives. I do them mainly cos' so that I can keep them for fond memories to watch over and over again when I get old and frail. So, when a friend actually told me that my videos inspired her and she's hoping she can do one for her baby girl and comes to ask me for tips, I felt surprised, honoured and of cos' happy that I could play a part in it. Not that I had much tips to offer her becos' I'm really not as good as the many people out there who do movies too.
But, I figured out maybe the one big drawing ingredient of my videos is that it contained happiness. Tonnes of it. We all like happy things, don't we? So, probably as long as I have energy and passion, I'll definitely continue doing up happy videos. And hope I can improve as I move along!! Well. now I gotta go think bout Angel's next video! Tata!
Yup, time flies and we are back from London! It was overall a fun and nice experience for us, though I must admit I really was overwhelmed by the crowds and the traffic at first. It's like back to Singapore! Jw and I were not really used to it, after having been accustomed to Karlskrona's peaceful, simple, slower way of life.
Things I like about London
1. Leicester Square, Chinatown with its wide range of yummylicious chinese food
2. The long shopping streets
3. The beautiful night scenery
4. The cabs (not as expensive as expected and fits strollers and luggages nicely!)
5. The English signboards and TV channels (finally, we understand what people are talking about!)
Things I don't like so much about London
1. The unpredictable and rainy weather (It rained 2 out of the 3 days we were there!)
2. The not baby-friendly facilities (for eg. the tube with the long flights of stairs, the restaurants with no space for strollers)
3. The crowds, traffic, pollution, fast pace of life (it was hard to push baby around without getting bumped by people because everyone was walking so fast and there were so many people!)
We visited Hyde Park, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and London Bridge, Tate Modern, Leicester Square and took a ride on London Eye. Sadly it was raining when we were on the Eye, so we didn't manage to take nice pictures cos' of the water droplets on the windows. Anyway, it was raining and cold and Angel was crying. So, guess what? I had to nurse her on the London Eye. Wahaha. Judging from how the people there don't really seem to be open to nursing in public, I probably am one of the few mums who have done it there. Keke. Not that it's something to be proud of, but it's definitely something to remember.
The best thing about this trip was partly to have been able to meet up with Joanne, Robin and Justin. Jw must be elated to see two of his brothers in a single trip. Hee. And for me, I was just happy to see jo and go sightseeing together, with baby angel!! Though having a baby surely makes travelling more cumbersome and inconvenient, I think we still managed and it was an exciting experience for Angel to take the airplane, the train, the cab and visit so many interesting places. I bet she won't remember it, but you know, there're always the pics and the vids to remind us when we get old. =)
So, till I find time to do a vid! Keke. =) I am so stuck with the tune of London Bridge is falling down. =p Btw I think the bridge actually refers to the Tower Bridge that can open and close, not the actual by name London Bridge. =) But well, whatever.
Byebye London and till we meet again!!
