My precious moments in April 09...
So I turned 26th this month.. For the first time in many many years, I was away from close friends and my family on this day. Mummy used to buy me a cake on some of my bdays, though she doesn't eat cakes at all. And well, I miss that so much. And the badz gals never failed to celebrate my bday for me. We would always have nice gatherings. Last year on 7th April, I still remembered we went to Kbox and had such a blast!!
But well, they told me sometimes some of the most simple things in life are the most memorable. Well, I guess I absolutely agree on that. It doesn't have to take much to build a precious moment. So long as we put in their hearts and show our love in a simple way, so what if it's only just one person there in front of you. So yeah, I had a most simple but still happy and memorable bday celebration with jw this year. With a yummy slice of cheesecake to top it off. =p Hee. I love cheesecakes!
And since three days after my bday came easter holidays, jw and I had a nice and relaxed time in our home, in Kalmar and Goteburg. We visited the castle in Kalmar. I thought we would be able to see more of the interior! Haha. Alas it was just a short walk around the garden and the mainly the exterior of it. Well, still it was a good first time experience, I guess. =) Seems like a good place to nua and picnic. Hee.
After spending a short afternoon in Kalmar on Saturday, not to mention resting for a full day on Friday, we decided to be more adventurous and travel further on Sunday. Hee. So yeah. Goteburg, here we come!! It's the second largest city in Sweden!! So despite the fear that majority of the shops will still be closed on Easter Monday, we still drove for over 5 hours to reach the town. And yeah, we spent a nice 2D1N there.
Shopping, eating, sightseeing, photo-taking, casino visiting, we did all we could in the short span of time we had. It's always a nice feeling to explore a new place, even though it might not be that exciting or fun-filled as you had hoped for, but the thrill and anticipation is always there to make you feel happy. =)
We stayed in Hotel Royal, as probably two of the few guests who were there that night. Hee. Still, it was a comfy place and we had a nice breakfast the second morning too. Before we headed to town for more shopping and photo-taking. Hee.
I told jw I loved the night scene at this spot. He said he didn't see anything special bout it. Haha. But well, isn't our photo nice afterall? It's the lightings that made it nice mah. Hee.
Moving on, it was our 1st wedding anniversary yesterday. Yeah. 26th April. The day we became hubby and wifey!! Although jw was busy with soccer in the morning and an event at night, we still spent a good 2 hours in the afternoon, just the two of us, out under the bright warm sun. Guess what we did? Yeah, we did what we had planned to! Go for a picnic! Hee. I have never picnic-ed in S'pore, or not that I can recall of. Jw says so hasn't he. Waha. So it was sort of our first picnic I guess. =p And well, I wasn't sure of what to pack for the outing, so I prepared sandwiches, fruits, a bottle of milo, a mat, some Hello Panda snacks and out we went!!
Jw brought me to a nice spot for picnics. There were several other families around the area. Seems like they really love picnics here. =) And since it's getting warmer nowadays, I guess it's really a good activity to engage in. =) We found a nice spot, with a pit and benches to sit on, and facing the sea! Woohoo. So jw started the fire to keep us warm and keep the bugs away.
And then we tucked in into our yummy sandwiches! They tasted so much better like that than when eaten at home. Haha. Simple omelette sandwiches and ham & cheese sandwiches. But oh well, I loved the melted cheddar cheese!!~ *drools*
We also brought along fruits and it was then a sparrow came hopping near us and we started feeding it with bread and fruits. Hee. Bird feeding time! =) I can't really describe the feeling, but it was a moment of serenity, love, peace, everything all twined into one. All in all, it was a great moment. Eating sandwiches, drinking milo, feeling the warm fire, playing mandarin pop songs in the background on my phone, watching the birds hopping around, feeling the warm sunlight, everything was perfect. =) Simple, but wonderful.
After we finished eating, we started on our 'Piggy' masterpiece. Wahaha. It was this piggybank that we bought from Maxi, but the special thing is you are given 12 water colours and a brush and you can feel free to design your own special piggybank such that it is the one and only in the world. Jw thought of painting it together and served as a prezzie for me. Well, I guess it was a brilliant idea after all. Because painting a piggy together at this perfect moment in time was something that few other ideas can beat, I guess.
So, from ground zero, we started painting Piggy bit by bit. Each of us took a side of its body, and jw took the front while I took the back. Keke. I gave it a rainbow butt. Wahaha. And jw gave it a cheeky wink. =) Kawaii ne!! We took turns painting it, and it was so fun to see the other party so engrossed in the painting as we snapped picture after picture. Keke.
So ta-dah! After 1hr or so, our dear piggy is done!!~ wonder why the ears are blue, but oh well, haha, that makes it special I guess. =) We wrote our names on it too. Waha.
So, April was a good month for us. =) And along with it came more precious moments to lock in that memory drawer of ours. Looking forward to our future wedding anniversaries, cos' every April 26 will always be a very, very special day for both of us. Tata!

It's coming..
It's pretty amazing how fast time flies, isn't it?
I realized that since April is here, it means that in no time it will be our 1st year wedding anniversary. Yeah yeah. We were always confused of whether our anni was in April or in July, but since we signed the papers and became legally married in April, well, so April 26th should be our wedding anniversary. Woohoo!~
What do couples do on their wedding anniversaries? Go out for nice dinner? Give presents to one another? Re-watch their wedding videos? Take a look at the cherished photo albums? Or just stay home together and spend a nice relaxing night? Well, I dunnoe! Haha. It so happens that our wedding anni falls on a Sunday next week, so we will most prob have lotsa time to spend together. Yippie yay!
Yeah, so in future we will have two occasions to celebrate in April!~ Hee. My bday and our wedding anniversay. Lalala.
Still, still can't believe it has been a year. Those memories of preparing for the beach ROM, folding cranes and lucky stars, filling test tubes with sand, doing invites for friends and family, shopping for ribbons and flowers with keow jie, getting the artist to paint our caricature, printing out and writing captions for all our overseas photographs, liaising with Aloha, etc etc etc. Still such vivid and strong memories in my head.
Well, so I decided to re-live that day again. Waha. By looking at those memorable pics taken from our ROM, and reminiscing that feeling once more. =) L'amour Voyage, here I come again!~
Green and blue dress, with green and blue nails, with green and blue make up.. Waha.. I guess I suited the beach theme well.. =) Keow jie turned me into a pretty bride in such a short time..
The forever memorable Eiffel tower the girls did for me to hold our rings. One of the most touching gifts I ever got. And I really loved all the flower arrangements Keow jie did. So beautiful! Our tablecloth was a nice, flowy blue and white ocean! My beloved jie meis.. Still remember we kept taking a lot of 'jumping' shots and wacky shots..
Simply love the warm and bright sun. So glad the weather was kind to us that day.
That BIG moment of my life, when I signed the papers. Entrusting my life to this one man right beside me...
Still remember our fairytale wedding bands. I guess even if they fade and tarnish. that feeling of designing and having our own unique rings triumphs over anything else.. And it's a feeling that will never be erased...
My popo!~ Ever so smiley. Hee. Can't wait to see her here in August. So proud of her to be taking long haul flights at 75 yrs old. I don't even think I can do that next time. Hehe. Li hai!~ We love you popo!
Jw's daddy and mummy. I think he looks like both of them. Keke. Nice nice parents..
And my mum and dad! I think I look like both of them too. Wahaha. So hoping they will visit me in Sweden! Cos' I really miss them... Last but not least, ta-dah, my hubby for the past 1 year and many many many more decades to come. Hee. I think we took alot of nice pics together! Will always cherish them.. Hee.. Well well.
To many more wedding anniversaries ahead of us!~ Cheers!~

Turning 26...
Yeah yeah. It's 7th April again. Last year, I was celebrating turning 1/4 century old. Now, haha, I am older than a quarter century. =) well, I guess the difference isn't that big after all. Will probably feel it more on my 30th bday, the big leap from the 20s to the 30s. Keke.
I did a google search to see who has the bday as me. I only know of Jackie Chan. keke. So well, I didn't recognize a whole lot of them, maybe just Russell Crowe. So 7 April ain't that popular a birth date after all.

I guess this year jw will be the only person celebrating my bday for me. =) And, I guess it's more than enough too. He wasn't around on my bday last year in S'pore while my friends were, now it's the other way round. =) Keke. He bought me a nice massager and a darts board!~ Yeah, a real darts board. We can now relive those days in hall, training darts and going for the games. Keke. It's kinda cool. We spent a long time fixing it up and putting up cardboard to prevent us from destroying the wall when our darts missed the target. Keke. And the massager, it's a simple to use type u can put on ur chair. Comes with shiatsu massage!~ waha. Think popo will love it when she comes in august. Yeah yeah. My grandma and ah yi are coming to visit us in August!~ So proud of popo! Hee. =)
So well, so what if I need to rush out my thesis proposal tonight. Keke. I bet we will still have a nice dinner at Michaelangelo later. =) Now I'm just waiting for jw to come back. Hee. Oh and guess what, I finally hit my 100K on facebook texas hold'em. Won over 20K today. It's all luck on lucky day! Keke.
祝我生日快乐,也但愿天下的人能永远快快乐乐....
