Aniwae, my sch is starting this week! Both the online MBA and my jap course. Again thanks to ivy for helping me retrieve my password for the MBA, and for letting me know the overwhelming amount of work in store for us. Waha. SCARY!!! Accounting modules, management thought, managerial economics.. Eee.. All sounds tough and foreign to me, a mass comm major, chinese minor graduate!!!!! And the jap, there are two tests every week on top of the assignments. I need to learn to record audio files, and also to join online video chatrooms too. Fwah. Looks intimidating, but yet fun at the same time. Haha. Hope I can survive. =)
Oh, another thing. Pino passed away this week. Poor Pino. Was so ke lian when it got blind. Seeing it knock its way around the house, and always gotta shave its fur, and now that it's gone, I know we will always miss her, but someone once told me all dogs go to heaven, so I'm choosing to believe in it, and hope she will find a better life, wherever she may be now..
Here's where we played bowling. Some super ulu place which look to me like containers more than anything. But well, nice to noe that at least there's a bowling alley here. Oh btw, in the end I was the only wife who bowled. *duh* There was Jackie who said she will only "wash the drain" if she bowls, Kexin who just got pregnant, Seline who had 3 kids with her to take care of, one of which is a newborn. Alamak. Another wife Aizhen did try a couple of times, but I was the only one who had my name entered and I was supposed to represent the team. We had 3 lanes, 5 pax in each lane, and it was a battle to see which of the 3 teams had the highest combined score after 2 games. Well. Yes. I'm one of the 15 people. Argggh. I think I will just lian lei my whole team. HAHA. Luckily jw was in the same team, so I guess he can help to make up my score.
Well. I did "wash the drains" a couple of times too. And whenever I get a spare, I will hit ZERO pins at my next turn. I dunno why. Jw said why I always waste my spares. Sob. Aniwae, I had a combined score of 160. (hmmm, for 2 games yar, not 1). So my average was 80. Not that bad, rite? Haha. I wasn't the worst scorer leyyy. Though I think I must have been a close second. The best and worse scorers both got a prize. And guess what, my team actually won the best team! Thanks to Kester and jw, each of them got nearly 300 points in total for the 2 games . Woho. We won for ourselves a notebook and a mousepad. Keke.
Well, we also travelled to Vaxjo to get my Visa. Used the GPS tracking system for the first time in my life. It's kind of cool, though sometimes you dunno whether to trust the system or your own intuition cos it will read different things from the signboards. Waha.
It was approximately an hour's drive to Vaxjo. Mainly expressways, with very little cars on the road. Such a vast difference compared to Singapore. Wonder how many ERP gantries there will be when we get back in 2011. Haha.
But hey, there are some similarities too! Hee. Here's the speeding camera. There were sooooo many cameras that at times, we really had to travel slow. Oh, and sometimes there will be a signboard that says the road ahead has several cameras, but you won't know where they are situated at so you just gotta keep to the speed limit. Haha. And the GPS system is so smart that whenever you are close to cameras, it will say "Beware, Watch Your Speed". Cool.
Cows!! We saw cows, horses, sheep along the way. So many of them. We made it a point whenever we pass them, we will wind down the windows and make their noises and see if they look up. Haha. Damn. I can only do "Moooooo.." well. "Meh, Heh, Heh, Heh" still can pass. But come to horses wise, I failed. HAHA. Damn lame, hor??? BUT well, we must think of how to keep ourselves awake right, if not sure fall asleep one. So we also played alot of pop songs and party songs and sang to our hearts' contents in the car. Woohoo. KTV KTV!!!
We bought this sushi pack from the petrol station. Jw says you don't see it toooo often, so better cherish it. Keke. Quite nice lar. The salmon quite yummy also. Hehe. But it's around 65kr, which is more than S$15. Fwah.
The blue skies and the beautiful scenery. Looks so serene.
Yeah yeah. Finally reached the migration office. Lalala. And check it out, I wore sleeveless!! Wahaha. Jw was amazed. But well, errmmm, I put on the jacket after a short while. Haha.
My Visa!! Finally. Got a super dut face in the pic which they took on the spot. Eeee. But guess wad, the validity is less than a year so I'm unable to get a personal ID in this case. Grrrrrr. Which means both of us have to re-apply our Visas to extend to a later date and come back and collect again when they are done, so that I can get my ID. Aiyohh.
Guess where we went next? Bet all of us have come to this store before. And it originates in Sweden yarrr!!!
Haha. Yeah. IKEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dunno why, but shopping in Ikea makes me happy. Maybe a feeling of nostalgia bah. And looking at furniture, deciding what to buy, (and arguing over what will look better in the house or how to re-arrange the furniture), pushing the trolleys together, well, there was some element there that makes me happy. Something I would call, Home. Haha.
Yeah, ate the meatballs! My first meatball meal in the land of meatballs. They are Yummy! Though not far off from the Spore Ikea. Also ate the salmon, and alot of potatoe. Haha. Endless potatoe. Can't finish ley. Hmmm.
Sometimes, I really wonder what I will do without a man in my life. Haha. Things will be harder I guess. I won't be able to carry so many things in Ikea, nor have the strength to shift all the trolleys of stuff to the car, not have the ability to assemble all the complicated pieces of furniture. Tables, chairs, yes i can. But the wardrobe, FWAH, that looks hard.
So we spent the entire Sat night assembling our new furniture for the house. Hehe. We spent over S$1K at Ikea! Uh oh. Hope it's all worth it.
The wardrobe. To be placed in our room. Check out the mirrors that we bought and pasted on the doors. Wahaha.
The computer table. It's PINK!!!! and the red drawers that I put together. Hehe. The chair was the easiest.
The CD rack that jw set up. YEAH. Finally a home for our DVDs and VCDs. Keke. Almost full liaoz! and more on the floor!!
Our new RED carpet and pillows! Decided a sofa will not fit nicely into our living room, so we chose this instead. Lalala. And at nites whenever we watch movies or dramas, we will lie down on this and watch.
Our new cupboard. So far it stores my books (I brought alot!), some games (like poker cards, dice, Uno etc) and alot of my art & craft materials. Love the pink and red storage boxes at the bottom. Hehe.
Last but not least, my Winnie the pooh corner. Brought these over from Spore. Gonna put this in the guestroom instead. Hehe. Along with some mini tools and table, so that next time kids can come over to our house to play. =)
Yeah. That's all for now. Hope you liked my house so far. I do!! Tata!!
And during the weekend, I realised my packet of milk that I bought from ICA (the supermarket here) is gonna expire!! Arrggghhh. So, I went to the shipment boxes to dig out my treasures. Wahaha. Yeah!!! KOKO KRUNCH & HONEY STARS!! Jw doesn't eat them, so I'm gonna have them all to myself. Wahaha. I love cereal!!!
Well, on one afternoon, we were thinking of wad to eat for dinner, and jw suggested chicken rice. Sounds good to me!! Never did know how to cook the rice to have the chicken smell. Popo does it every CNY. Well. So jw taught me step by step. Not that I will remember all of them cos I didn't write it down and I dun tink my brain has that much storage space. But well, look at him frying the uncooked rice! I never did know you can do it that way. Hehe. He said david's mother-in-law taught him to do that before you put the rice in the cooker. Tastes better.
Guess wad? Haha. On Sunday nite, we had wantons for dinner! I spent like 1hr just wrapping them nicely, and used the leftover meat to do meatballs. Keke. Was watching Rainie Yang's Huan Huan Ai on TV. Jw says it must be cos I'm not concentrating so I'm taking so long to get the wantons done. =( Grrrr.
And check this out. Yesterday we wanted to go to the Indian restaurant to have our dinner, but jw decided we shall have a try and cook our own curry dishes! Woho. So we did it. Chicken curry (with the help of spices from Muthu and Shan), vegetable curry, together with fried Papadum!! That was my favourite. Hehe. Crispy, deep fried, super oily Papadum. =) *drools*
Ended up our vege curry was more tasty than the chicken. Hehe. More coconut-ty. The chicken curry had a mixture of many fragrances, too strong for my liking. Keke. But yayyy! Our first Indian meal. Hehe.
I love the feeling of us cooking together, more than anything else. Even if the food turns out horrible, at least we put our hearts and hands together to create it. I dunno. That's how I feel. Guess I'm not a food gourmet expert nor connoisseur, so I dun really care bout the end product more than I care about the process.
That's it for now. Till the next yummy blog!!
Our bedroom!! Yeah sleeping in the Jap style. No bed, only mattress. Keke. But it's a queen sized okie. Wif 3 layers of comforters. Wahaha.
The kitchen! Jw reallie kept it clean and tidy though he must have been using it very often to cook. Woho. Good job dear!! Now that the shipment is here, we are really quite well equipped for the winter ahead! Woho.
The dining room. Where we placed small table with 4 chairs. Keke. Right beside the fireplace. Here's where we will sit to eat every afternoon and night and watch TV at the same time.
Ta Dah. Our bathroom. Looks tiny, right? Don't worry, it IS tiny. Wahaha. But good enough lar for two pple. Got a mini bath tub (which u muz be careful when go in or out cos you will bump your knee against it).
Yeah dat's it for now. Upload more pics when we are done furnishing and decorating the house. Lalala. My new project after the wedding. =p
Check it out. Nuggets from Max Burger! Strongly recommended by junwei. Hehe. Said they are super duper wuper nice. Rare that he compliments nuggets, so I HAD to give it a try. Hehe. And yeah, my hubby bought 20 pieces for 2 people when we were still gg to cook dinner later, because he said 20 piece is onli a little more expensive than 6 or 9 piece, so more hua!! Alrite. Wahaha. But yeah he's right, they do taste yummy licious!! =p
Great chef at work! Hehe. Jw cooking our dinner. Corn soup and hot plate beef. Woohoo. Looks damn good right. Hehe. I told mummy I wanna learn to make hot plate beef and next time can cook for her. Hee. She's eager to taste it! Can tell dat mummy misses me alot from the SMSes she sent. Sob sob. I miss her too.
TA-DAH! The finished product. Hehe. Yummy Yummy. Kudos to Junwei!!
We went to Kenneth and Ivy's place for dinner on Tue nite. Hehe. Finally met Ivy!! And yeah she's my faithful blog supporter. Thanks gal!!! and thanks for bringing me to town and helping me to learn my way!! Oh, I must learn to cook from the wives here. Hehe. They are so expert liaoz! Wanna learn to cook chinese food, western food, japanese food, and learn to bake! Woho. The dog in the pic is called Pigsie, pet of Edward and Serene. Hee. Unique name!! Called so because since a baby, she snores at night. Hehe. I heard it when we stroked her to sleep. =) Adorable doggie (who doesn't bite, hor jw??) Hee.
Good night kiss for Pigsie!! Heehee. Tata!!
