My First Summer Road Trip!~
Yeah, lucky us managed to get 3 weeks of leave and we'll be going on a road trip in addition to the cruise. It's my first real long road trip here! First summer, I was preggie and we went back sg for 3 weeks. Second summer, we also went back sg for a couple of weeks and then went on a Royal Caribbean cruise. This third summer, oh yeah, we are going to see more of Europe before we head back to sg for good next year.
I'll probably be missing in action for the next few weeks, so don't miss me okie. Keke. =) These few days have been exciting for me, booking hotels, reading up on the cruise tours and looking up on the places of interest. Hee. =) Lalalala. We are going with a big clan this time, with our friends, their parents and their two kids. So total, 9 of us! =p Here are the places we will be visiting, other than the cruise. Woohoo.
Hamburg, Germany (Stopover)
I haven't been to this part of Germany before though I heard it's a pretty nice place. Well, a stopover is better than nothing, at least I can next time say I've been in Hamburg! Wahaha. Basically our trip is more of touch and go, rather than an in-depth exploration.
Salzburg, Austria
And Vienna, Austria
Next up, we are going to explore eastern europe! Hee. Too bad our rented car does not allow us to drive to Prague in Czech, a place that I think I should visit before I go back to sg. But well, at least we are going to see Salzburg and Vienna in Austria this time round. Vienna somehow seems like a pretty place to me.
Genova, Italy
Then, we will move on to our port of embarkation for our cruise. Genova, Italy. I've never heard of it prior to this trip. However, I found out that it has Europe's 2nd largest aqaurium, which I think jw will be very interested to go take a look. Well, you know, we kinda like seeing zoos and aquariums from our past trips. Haha.
Next up, we will be on a 8D7N cruise! Hooray!
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Following that, on our road trip back to Karlskrona, we will first make a stop at Monaco. It's the world's second smallest country following the Vatican City. It only has a tiny area of 2km square. (In case you forgot, Singapore is near 700!) Yet it boasts the highest nominal GDP and the highest life expectancy. Fwah. Highlights include the Monte Carlo Casino (I bet we are going in!) and the F1 racing tracks.
Disneyland, Paris
After that, we will spend two days of fun in Disneyland! Woohoo. Angel's first, I hope she will enjoy it to the max. This will be my 3rd Disneyland, following Tokyo (during my company incentive trip) and LA (during our honeymoon in winter 2008).
And how can we miss staying in downtown in the city of light? A place so so so memorable and special to me, I can't even find words to describe it. 4 years ago on 29 July 2007, it was where we got engaged on the Eiffel Tower. 4 years later on 29 July 2011, I will be standing in that wonderful and romantic city once again, with my beloved hubby and my dearest baby. I love Paris!!~
Frankfurt, Germany (Stopover)
Lastly, our final resting point is in Frankfurt before we head home. (Hmmm, it's too far to drive straight from Paris to Sweden). We chose Frankfurt, although there's probably not much for us to explore in consideration of time and that it's more of a financial hub. But well, it's still a place we've stepped foot in.
So, till more updates on my summer hols, okie? Adieu!
