Lalala. Somehow, I love the joy that's in the air whenever X'mas is nearing. =) It's a time to spread love to your loved ones! Woho~ Here's a kawaii blue x'mas tree that kersin did for many of us here in Sweden. Creative! =) I never thought of making trees like that. Kudos to you gal(& mummy-to-be!)!! Arigatoo gozaimasu!! I love it!
Anyway, as for me, well, I didn't make that many presents this year. Did a scrapbook for deardear and a video for the gals. Keke. Somehow, the scrapbook took me more time than the video lor. Waha~~ Anyway, I think I love the scrapbook in the end more than my hubby did. HAHA!
It's a 27-pg photo scrapbook that depicts our life in Sweden from the day I came till now. Bits and pieces of our story, all put together as one. I thought it'll be nice to take home with us all these precious memories when we leave Sweden next time. And then we can show our parents, our friends and maybe even our kids and grandchildren. Waha! *xiang tai yuan* Anyway, seeing that gan dong look on dear's face was enough to let me know that my efforts were all worth it. Hee. Merry X'mas and Happy 65th Monthliversary in advance dear!! =p Lub ya!!
Hehe. So I realised our red rug in the living room can be a good photo backdrop too. Woohoo~
Lastly, for my friends in S'pore who might be interested, here's the compressed video of what I did for the badminton gals. Hee. A peek at our history, and a walk down our friendship gallery. It brings back to me so many happy and treasured memories. Hope the gals will love it as much as I do.
To all my friends who didn't get any prezzies *oops*, well, I haven't forgotten any of you. Hope you will have a superb X'mas next week and a smashing new year countdown and may 2009 be a year filled with blessings for all of you!! Friendship remains and never can end!!!
To my dear Mummy: Hello Mummy!!! I'm not sure when you will see this message, but I wanna say hihihi and I love ya and miss ya!!!~
Yeah yeah. I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on to MSN today and I saw that someone with the email address with the name waichun added me. Hehe. It's my dearest MUMMY!!!~ My mummy who didn't know how to on the computer, much less log on to internet, much less how to enter MSN. With the help of my korkor, she finally set up and now has an email account! Woohoo. Although she sounds doubtful that she will ever use it, I hope she will soon! =)
Yes, Mummy! I want to be able to chat with you here too! and it'll also be so great if you can see my blog and korkor's blog once in awhile and then you can see alot of nice nice pics I post here and read all about our life in Sweden! Woohoo!~
That's all I wanna say today. Keke. To everyone else who's reading this, Merry X'mas and Happy New Year in advance becos' I don't think I'll get to blog once we depart for US on Saturday. Tata!! Hohoho!!~ Woohoo!!~
Suppose you had a very close bunch of friends, altogether 8 of you who had known each other for over a decade and your friendship is so strong that nothing can destroy it.
Christmas is approaching, and all of you are going to carry out your traditional gift exchange. If you had two options to set the gift exchange rule, would you rather:
1) Each person has to buy a present for the other 7 people, budget is about $10-$15. You can buy little items, you can hand-make simple gifts, you can do anything you want but with a small budget.
2) By random picks, each person is designated to buy one prezzie only, for another person. For instance A buys for B, B buys for C, C buys for D and so on. Thus, your budget is now consolidated to $70-$100 and you can buy an expensive, pretty gift.
I asked jw this question this morning. And he said logically he prefers the idea of 1), because X'mas is meant to share joy with all of your friends, but because he thinks $10 is too little, so he would rather go with option 2). Haha. How bout you?
Just saw from the badz gals' emails that this year, we are changing the tradition abit, and thus changing from 1) to 2) so that the presents can be better. Of coz, due to the fact that I won't be present during the gift exchange, I was naturally not included in the list when they did the random picks lar. Sob sob. First time I'm missing out on the gift exchange. Arghhh.
Anyway, thinking bout the gift exchange, it brings back alot of happy memories. Of coz, I can't remember every little thing I've received from them, but isn't it true that although you can't remember the details of past happenings, but you can never ever forget that feeling that you experienced? Yeah. I believe so. The hand-sewn gifts and cards from Hazel (including one unfinished pouch that is still with her after a few years), the hand written cards from Sisi, the eyeshadow from Diana, the cup-warming USB device from Sisi, the pretty little scarf from Huimin, the keychains, the lucky stars, the bottles, the little bear with my name 'Shuang' on it, the little red heart with two hands etc etc etc. So many happy memories.
Which is why, much as I understand the logic and practicality of choosing option 2), I would still pick option 1) anytime, anywhere. Becos' Christmas, to me, is a time to celebrate friendship and kinship. And sometimes, a little means alot. It's the xin1 yi4 that matters, isn't it? I would rather receive a handmade card than a LV bag. I'm serious. I can work hard to buy the bag myself, but I can't make cards for myself and yet feel the warmth, the joy, the love from my friends.
So I guess, at the end of the day, it boils down to personal preference. Jw says not everyone wants to make the effort to go hunt for 7 presents. I remembered last year, I went to Taka to make personalized handphone pendants for the gals, with our names written on colourful backgrounds on ornaments of different shapes and sizes. It cost me less than $10 per pendant, and didn't take me even one afternoon to choose the shapes, colours, fonts for each of us. Yeah, I didn't make the effort to look for 7 different items, but I tot it'll be so cool to hang similar dangleys on our handphones. Hee. In fact, I think it's perfectly fine to give out 7 things which are the same, for example last year Haz gave us little tubes of lip glosses. One small item received from every friend, amounts to 7 small items which enrich me much more than a big prezzie. I dunno. It's just my thinking. I think love and xin1 yi4 can't be bought.
Well. Of coz, at the end of the day, I will support my sweeties' decision. Waha. Becos big or small prezzies, I know that they love me and they know that I love them. So it's okie. =) Like I said, nothing can destroy our friendship. Today I'm gonna mail the CD-Rom with the video to Hazel, and I hope they will love my little gift for them. Didn't cost me anything at all (errr, except the envelope), just a few days of hard work. It's the story of us, and I'm glad I did it, because everytime I look at it, I feel so gan dong and happy that they are here in my life... =)
Such kawaii pics of BB Rena I saw on korkor's blog, hee, makes me wanna look at them over and over again. Keke. Thus, I decided to post them here too! My baby niece!! Pretty pretty BB. She's only slightly more than 1week old now. And look! She has so much hair! Like me. Mummy said though I was born at 7plus months, I had ALOT of hair. Haha. I can see her double eyelids liaoz! So pretty. Hope next time our BB can take after jw then will have double eyelids too! Waha. But well, double eyelids or not, we'll love him/her all the same. =) I wonder who she resembles more. Can't really tell now. Maybe abit of both korkor and da-sao.
Yawnz. BB must be sleepy. Hehe. She looks so small comparing to those fingers around her. Sooooo small. So amazing. Keke. Every baby has those mittens, huh? I Love Mummy and I Love Daddy. Yeah, but awwww, so sweet.
Hee. Baby Rena looks nice in blue too! Who says gals muz wear pink and guys should wear blue. =p
Zzzzzzzz... Time to orh orh.. So eager to see how she'll grow up day by day.. =) Woohoo...
Well, I'm brainstorming of what art & craft to do in tmr's lesson for the kids. & honestly my mind is in a blank now. Have done colouring, play dough, origami etc.. And it's always a good thing to have something fun for the kids to look forward to, then they will absorb better and pay more attention during the proper lesson.
Was searching the web for ideas, and just thought this origami was so cute and funny. Waha. French fries origami!!! Why didn't I have such stuff in my childhood time.. Hmm. I can't even remember how to fold a nice aeroplane. Lalala.
Well well. Hope more creativity juice flows into my brain soon. If not, the kids will be disappointed with wu lao shi.. Ganbatte ne!!
It's been awhile since we looked at this video again. =) Keke. Though we did burn the song onto CD-rom so that we can listen it in the car. Wedding videos do bring back so much memories, doesn't it? =)
I love this song. Our song. =) Wo men de tong hua. It's so nice to own a song, though we are not big celebrities. Keke. But it feels good to listen to a song which we composed ourselves, together as hubby and wife. I honestly wonder if we will have a next one, waha. Say maybe we should do one more on our 10th wedding anniversary, another on our 20th, then 30th etc? keke, what do ya think, dear? =p then we will sound older and more frail as we go along. =) WAHA~ Lao tai gong and lao tai po singing love duet!!!
Right. End of my imagination. Keke. Back to reality. Jap test happening in 1hour, so I'm honestly going to mug for this hour liaoz. =) and then go attend the dinner function tonite with dear and can meet up wif the other wives! =) ta-ta..
BB Rena! My dear niece is finally here.. Actually not finally, because it seems like only yesterday that dear da sao was pregnant, but last friday 28 Nov, Rena greeted the world with a smile!! Wow.. 3.23kg baby, super healthy!! I was only 2.2kg, keke, cos' I kicked my way out when I was only 7 plus months old..
Doesn't she look adorable? Mummy says she got super long eyelashes and she looks so much prettier in real person than on pics.. so sadz i can't get to see her face to face though..
So happy for korkor and jiejie.. yeah yeah!! cheers to our family's first baby addition after 25 years (i.e. after me.. waha).. And dear popo, you are finally a tai-po liaoz! and I'm a gu-gu, and mummy is a nai-nai, and daddy is ye-ye!!
Baby rulez!! =)
