May angels look after you...

Was quite shocked to learn about Xu Wei Lun's sudden demise today. Life is really so unpredictable sometimes.

Quite sad to read this in article...

She says, when she was with her friends, they have once talked about the topic of death. "I have told my good friends, if one day I have to leave the world, you would all have to come in one by one to talk to me, sing songs to me, tell me how you are doing, then I can be an angel and protect you. You would always smile a bit and then scold me for talking about it."

她也曾表示,「如果我每天都過得不是那麼快樂,要我活到80歲,那我寧願選擇每天都快樂,活到60歲就好。少那20年,但可以活得精采又開心,為什麼不呢?」

Elvina said she cried when she heard the news. Well, I guess these things just make us melancholy and depressed when we hear about them. Somemore she's so young, talented and beautiful and being a star makes her news spread all over every media there can be.

Hope that angels will protect and look after her though she's not here, just like how she wants to look after her friends...

Written by kids..

You gotta read this.. Sometimes kids just know better than us.. Ain't they adorable? =)

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHOM TO MARRY?
You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen, age 10

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
-- Camille, age 10

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick, age 8

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
Both don't want any more kids.
-- Lori, age 8

WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
-- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)

On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that Usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
-- Martin, age 10

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
-- Craig, age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
When they're rich.
-- Pam, age 7 (smart girl)

The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
-- Curt, age 7

The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do.
-- Howard, age 8

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita, age 9 (bless you child)

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?
-- Kelvin, age 8

And the #1 Favorite is........
HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck. -- Ricky, age 10

The day when Junwei zha hu...

Hoho, junwei say muz mark down the calendar on 14 Jan 2007, cos' that was when he did a classic zha hu in his life, his first ever!!

& it muz happen at bei feng bei lor, the last of the last game. We all tot going to end liaoz, boring, when he did his classic move and everybody was stunned for awhile. Can't remember the exact tiles, but let me try to recall whatever I can. Keke.

Becos' we played fei (aka joker), so the lucky boy had 2 feis in this game. & he was bei feng bei, so bei feng got 2 more tai. Aniwae all his cards were nice nice already (all consecutive, but no yan jing aka eyes yet), except for si suo, wu suo, qi suo, 2 feis and 1 bei.

By right, he should have realised that he was short of one tile right? If you put si suo wu suo together with one fei, then you only have one fei left and qi suo and bei. See, short of one tile! total he only had 12 tiles instead of 13, but miraculously my bf who's quite a mj professional din realise. Muahahaha. The funniest thing is that when popo hit liu suo, he hesitated for awhile, then say he dun wan. & we tot he wanted to zi mo.

He tot he can only gao wif qi suo or bei, so that he can jia bei and get 2 more tai. (pardon me if you lost me already, but those who noe mj should noe wat i mean! =p) Dunnoe wad he's thinking, but fate reallie let him zi mo a qi suo, and he pushed all his tiles out and shouted gao!! Wahhhhh.. stunned man.. till we realise no matter how we put, also cannot put 2 feis and the bei together. So, it's a case of XIAO XIANG GONG that went undiscovered by all till the very end.

Haha. Congrats dear!! You laughed at me when I 5 tai dunno how to gao cos I all wan zi and blur blur missed the chance. Now everyone laughed at you becos you gamed xiao xiang gong. *winks* thanks for making my mummy and popo so happie!! =p

Hong Kong Trip 29 Dec 2006 - 1 Jan 2007

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We arrived in Hong Kong on 29 Dec 2006. It was a short 3 days, free & easy trip for us. & since in Taiwan, we had to wake up at almost 6.30am every morning, we decide to pamper ourselves abit more this time round and wake up at 10am or later. Muahaha.

It's really mai dong xi, chi dong xi here! Miao jie and nu ren jie were shopping paradises for clothes, bags and esp souvenirs. Gosh. We bought two more huge carriers and another backpack. Back in Taiwan, our tour group frenz had commented that we are shopping freaks. Well well, can't deny I guess. =)

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usIn Taiwan, we met Junwei (jw's best fren wif the same name, but jun4wei3 not jun4wei1!~) and went clubbing together. Their clubs are so much fun. Got la mei and sexy dances! So I was indeed very much looking forward to gg to Lan Kwai Fung to check out this famous clubbing area in HK. Alas, we din get the chance to except on New Year's Eve and Victor said no point cos very crowded and can't get in. BOO HOO. Btw we met Vic and his parents in HK and went eat dim sum, gambling at Macau, & even count down together! Happening parents sia!! Alas, despite Squeeezzzzing our way through to Victoria Harbour, there was no sign of fireworks and worse, not even the "10,9,8..." countdown. Everyone was so confused. Gosh, there muz have been millions and millions of pple there.

To celebrate our New Year, me and jw bought a few bottles of drinks from 7 Eleven and had our mini party inside our just as mini room in Mirador Mansion. (even smaller than my single room in Hall 6!~) We played Texas Holdem, poker, Blackjack, Tai Tee and watever card games we knew. So our New Year's Eve ended on a high note after all despite the initial disappointment. =)

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usOh, & we were lucky that we didn't lose $$ in Macau. We had $1K worth of tokens, and had lost half of it. Jw decided that we shall bet on dice big/small, and either win everything or lose it all. Wahaha. Gan jiong moment for us when the dice were revealed. Heng, he is after all lucky boy and we got back the originial $1K. =) Not to mention that the ferry cost us HKD$752 (about S$150)! Wah. Damn ex, but you can't imagine how many pple/gamblers/curious tourists still make their way there. Sooooooooo crowded.

The worst thing that happened during our trip is that the camera gave up on us. Sigh. I guess we din take good care of it. All the pics we took at the last few days were just white, blank pics (whenever we were outdoors). No image captured, so I can't even Photoshop it. SOBZZ. There goes my Avenue of Stars (aka Xing Guang Da Dao). Luckily can still take satisfactory pics at Madam Tussands, if not it would just be sooo sad. I swore that I shall get us a better camera and be fully prepared for our future overseas trips. Esp I'm someone who luvs to take loads and loads of pics.

Well, we still managed to bring back some pics to share with our frenz and family. Here goes!!

Till the next overseas trip (I think it's Sweden~~~~) ! Adios!!

Our Taiwan Trip 23-29 Dec 2006

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It's my first trip to Taiwan, and what makes it all so special is that jw is here with me and once again, we are spending our X'mas overseas.

We went on a 7D6N tour with Hong Thai, and I was pleasantly surprised that we had a superb tour guide, Chen Cai Ming Dao You. He was amazingly knowledgeable (was a doc before & thus taught us alot of health tips), had a sense of humour (can even tell us er xin xiao hua), and was quite earnest and generous (well, he gave jw a ciggie a day). No wonder he was awarded the model tour guide. We were so glad we got him, instead of anyone else. Yeah yeah, jw i know what you are thinking. ;p

We stayed in a total of 6 different hotels!! Can you believe it? Tao Yuan Hotel (Taipei), Fu Wang Da Fan Dian (Tai Chung), Citizen Hotel (Kao Hsiung), Parkview Hotel (Hua Lien), Paradise Hotel (Taipei) and Grand Hyatt Hotel (Taipei). Way cool!! Luckily all were neat, clean and comfy. Even the so called "9-star" (yeah, location 6 star, toilet 1 star, corridor 1 star, room 1 star!~) Paradise Hotel located in Xi Men Ding that Chen Dao You warned us of was not bad afterall. Don't you agree that it feels darn good to go back to a nice room and sleep on a clean comfortable bed after a hard day's work at shopping? Keke. I think so. & boy, i luv soaking myself in those bathtubs!! Just like the Tai Lai Hot Spring that we went to. That was cool. (erm, hot i mean)

Since we went to 5 places in Taiwan (Taipei, Tai Chung, Kao Hsiung, Tan Shui & Hua Lien), of coz we went to alot of the night markets and devoured the yummy-licious food there. Shih Lin, Feng Jia, Liu He, Xin Jue Jiang, Tan Shui Lao Jie were some of the night markets we went. To name a few of the yummy food, I think I luv these best: Grilled sotong, Guan Cai Ban (Toasted Bread wif Soup inside), Ba La (aka Guava), Feng Mi Ku Gua Zhi (Cucumber juice with honey), Hao Da Ji Pa & Xiang Xiang Ji (Fried chicken!!), Steak at Red Devil's, Shui Jiao (Dumplings) & Chong Shao Yu (The yummy fish!)!! Jw also said that the A-zhong mian xian, fried oyster wif egg and oyster mee sua was damn good!! But too bad I dun eat oysters. I luv the egg though!!

As to which tourist attractions we went, well, quite alot also. But to be honest, I was more interested in the eating. Keke. Still, the sight seeing was good! We went to the Museum (aka Gu Gong), Sun Moon Lake, Nu Huang Tou (at Tan Shui), Nan Tian Gong, Zhong Lie Ji Nian Tang & Zhong Lie Ci (witnessed the guard changing ceremony), Xi Men Ding (which jw kept saying Xi Men Qing!), 101 Building, Kao Hsiung 85 Da Lou, Wen Wu Temple etc etc.

I enjoyed myself immensely!~ & oh man, ate so much!! I also bought 7 pairs of shoes ley. Keke. Cos' not much clothes to buy, so diverted my funds to shoes and bags instead. =) Despite meals and accommodation and transport being provided in the tour, we still spend $1,400 in Taiwan. That means we spent $4K for Taiwan alone liaoz.. Woho.. I see the hole getting bigger & bigger. But I always believe that money can be earned and thus should be spent, whereas memories are created and can remain in your heart for a long long time. Glad I brought back wif me a great deal of sweet, priceless memories.

& that's not the end!! We deviated and stayed in Hong Kong for 3 days after the Taiwan trip. Extended honeymoon sia. So we spent X'mas in Taiwan and New Year in Hong Kong. =) Watch out this space for HK updates & more pics!!

Retro Fever on 8 Dec 2006

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The D&D went unbelievably smoothly, no hiccups, no flaws. Well, except that the food could be tastier. We were all allocated retro artistes’ names for the nite, & I picked Sheryl Crow from the box wif over 60 female names. Cool. My door gift was the shades. Big heavy shades, but quite cool. Except for the committee who got shades, the other gals could pick a doorgift from a variety of retro items (ear rings, scarves, bead necklaces, retro belts and metallic-looking bags). I luv each and every item, cos we hand picked all of them. As for the guys, sadly, they could only stick to retro (or uncle-looking) handkies. Keke. Not bad lar, we wanted to buy pyjamas initially!!

Randall was our choice of emcee for the nite, & he did a really good job in hosting and keeping the ladies’ gaze on him. Keke. Glad we didn’t make a wrong choice. He could also take things in his stride and entertained the audience with his humour or perk things up by playing funny retro games when the time calls for it.

For the lucky draw, I was picked by Leela!! Haha. Or rather, almost her whole team was picked by her! (talk about coincidence). But alas it wasn’t the top 10 or 20 prizes. Keke. I won the 57th prize, which consisted of $100 Taka vouchers and Maubossin cologne. Well well, which means jw won a prize too!

We had great fun wif the booze and dancing after the programme ended. Reminds me a lot of Zouk mambo nite wif the badz gals or hall pple. Not to let the fun come to an end, some of us even headed to Boat Quay for more drinks and music, all clad in our retro outfits. =) 8 Dec 2006 was certainly a blast in all aspects! Woohoo..
