Hoho, finally the time came for me to launch my surprise for jw. A mini getaway to Batam!!~ I think I've been super excited and looking forward to it! The beach resort, the spa massage, the kelong seafood, the comfy bed and feeling of serenity. It's a pre-celebration for our 40th month of being together, and where else better than to go back to this very resort that we were at three and a half years ago.. =) conjures a lot of happy memories for us.. (so what if I spent 500 bucks :p as long as it leaves behind happy moments to add to our rich collection)
Woah, the dart board is still here!! I remember us playing darts and ping pong the last time we were here. So we decided to have a game again. Well, they only had one dart, so we decided to keep to 101 points. =) Gosh, both of us checked in at our first dart during the first game! Not bad heh. Haben lost the flair after graduating from Hall 6 darts team. Keke. We were at a tie after 2 games! (& yeah we were still waiting for our deluxe room to be cleaned up so dat we can check in!) I tot I might have a chance of winning jw, finally, since I checked in first and he was still trying to hit that teeny green red line to check in. Alas, my 1 double checkout failed umpteenth times and he managed to catch up and checked out before me. Damn. I lost again. Haha. It's okie. =) At least I won a game. That's not too bad afterall. I love darts!!
Check out the view from our bedroom. Isn't that quite cool? They upgraded my room from superior to deluxe cos' they kept us waiting. Room 441, right beside the lift. Talk about convenience. This is the best we've stayed in so far. =) & everything in the room was just like I remembered. Nice bathtub + clean spacious room + good view + comfy big bed + TV dat can receive spore channels + huge thick curtains which can block the sunlight completely = one of the best places to nua. Cool. I just love it. Even if it's only one day. Makes you cherish everything even more.
We took the bus to the town centre on Sat afternoon after a not-so-nice but not-too-bad lunch buffet at the coffee house. Gosh. Now they have a mega shopping mall right at the town centre. That's not how I remembered it was. Last time it was more run down and roadside stalls kind of thing, where we bought the bath towels and atapchi. Now even Batam has become commercialised. Well well. We ate A&W there!! Yummy chicken wings and the always finger-licking curly fries. Luvvv it. We also bought a collection of DVDs to watch! Cool. Now I have CSI seasons 1 to 4!
Sat evening was devoted to the 150mins spa massage. A treat for both of us. I always luv the view from the room there. Remembered me and Whiskas going for the massage the last time round, after our kayaking, when the boys were all suffering from hangover after our drinking session the previous nite. Well, to think we women are deemed as the weaker sex. Keke. :p Since jw din get the chance to indulge in spa that time, I tot I could treat him to a nice & relaxing package this time round. & yeah, the Romantic Spa Package was not bad. Included a body scrub, body massage, facial treatment, steam bath, milk bath and tea at the end. Makes you feel like a prince and princess. (even if it's for a short while :p)
Dinner was held at the kelong restaurant, the restaurant which again brings back memories. We were here with Muthu, Jeff, Dev & Whiskas the last time round. & this was where we saw uncles fishing sotongs and grilling them on the spot. Woah. Yummy huge sotongs!! & yeah, after 3.5 years, I've learnt to eat sotongs!! That's an achievement sia! & I actually love to eat them now! No wonder they say pple change. keke. My eating habits changed too. Jw say maybe one day I'll be able to take durians. ;( But neh, that's too far-fetched and I dunnoe how I can ever take the smell, much less savour durians.
We nua-ded after dinner, just singing ktv and sitting in the club, enjoying a couple of drinks before gg back to our room. Boy oh boy, 1D1N really zooms by, but somehow it still feels terrific. Every minute of it. From the ferry there to the ferry back. From the rice dumplings we ate on our way there to the egg and bread set meal we had at the Killiney Kopitiam at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. I guess sometimes it just depends on who you spend your time with, that decides how happy you are and how fulfilling that trip was..
Yeappie yay.. Shuang shuang returns as an even happier gal.. With loads of sweet atapchi for others to share in the joy.. =) Catch us in our new smiley faced T-shirts!! ~Summer~ 12:54 AM
