Äpplemarknaden i Kivik
Remember the apple market that we went two years ago? Well, this year we revisited it! The biggest difference is that we had Angel with us this time round. Hee. Luckily she didn't have to pay the 80kr entrance fee. Waha.
Anyway, the eye-catcher at the Apple Market is the "apple art": pieces of art that look like paintings, but are actually pieced together by tons and tons of colorful apples, like a mosaic. This year, the painting was made up of 3 tonnes of apples, approximately 35,000 of them! Woohoo. APPLES UNITE!!!
We had lunch and then took a leisure walk along the many many stalls selling a wide range of stuff, from ornaments to magnets to hats and gloves to apple juice and all kinds of apples. There was even a stall selling apple hamburgers. Keke. Not that there were alot of things we needed or liked, but I still think it was nice and relaxing to take a walk in the market on a Saturday afternoon.
Last time, we ate apples coated with sugar and chocolate. Hee. This year, we simply took free samples of scented apples (we don't understand the names anyway) and apple juice. Haha. Typical Singaporeans hor. But oh well, we did buy juice and some apples larrr. =)
Angel had lotsa fun tasting the apples too. Hehe. I love this pic above of her, like doing 超级明星脸 (Did you watch Super Sunday last time?)
Now that she has six teeth, she looks really different when she smiles. Hee. No matter how, she will always look cute to me. Cos' she's my baby! Waha.
Happy Angel wants to snatch the juice from daddy too! Love to see her smile when we take pictures. =) Not always easy to capture though.
Then we also went to the art gallery to appreciate more apples. Hehe. On display were some of the apple paintings from the past years and there was also an exhibit of the different kinds of apples with their names.
This was the horse painting that we missed last year. Kinda cool.
So behind the simple A-P-P-L-E lies so much knowledge too!
After that, we did something we've never done before. We went Apple Plucking at an apple farm! Woho. It's a first time experience for all three of us. =)
There were not many people at the farm, so we could take it easy and slow, choosing the tree and the apple we want and taking photos in the process. There were different kinds of apples and they came in all kinds of sizes. Jw said the bigger one taste better, so we kept a lookout for them and indeed not many were left.
We still managed to pluck 3kg of apples though eventually. Hee. Angel was really curious about everything and she touched apple after apple. =)
And when she held her own apple, she held it like a gem, tightly and closely, smiling happily at us. =) Kawaii ne.
So all in all, we had a simple but happy family day in the Apple Market this year. You don't get to do this kind of activity in Singapore, so I really cherished and appreciated the opportunity. Thanks dear for everything you did for us! Tata!
