We finally held our wedding banquet on 26 July at Regent hotel. After a year long of anticipation and preparation, the big day finally came.
I was unusually calm all the way from the moment I woke up till night time. No tension, no stress, no butterflies in my stomach. Really. From the jie xin niang part in the morning at my house, till the tea ceremonies at both our houses, till the getting ready for the banquet, till the disco. An unusual and unexpected calmness. Huimin says it's becos I've already done all I could and I am fully prepared for the day, and so I should enjoy and savour each and every moment. Well, I guess so.
Alot of my friends congratulated me on the well managed banquet and all the surprises here and there. Some told me to set up a wedding planning agency and employ them. Others told me that this was their dream wedding. Well. I thanked all for their compliments and positive feedback. Feels good to know that people feel good and are happy about the event. Sure hope the food wasn't a letdown too.
So, my fairytale dream did come true. And well, guess all my efforts were well worth it. I expected that I would feel a sense of loss after the event, and true enough, now I am feeling that. Haha. Feels strange to not be busying myself on wedding stuff. Feels strange to not having the need to send email after email. Feels weird to not having to do the videos and having fun editing them. Feels weird that I'm suddenly quite free and can nua. Haha. I do wonder if my guests at the wedding believe that fairytales exist. I really wonder. I mean, there's no such thing as a perfect love or a perfect couple in the world right? Nothing in this world is so perfect. But well. I believe there is such a thing as true love, and a couple who may not be perfect, but are truly in love. Guess that's enough.
BIG thank you to all my friends and family who attended my wedding. Esp the 4G people who went to rent costumes and injected so much more fun into the night, and all others who cracked their brains to wear smtg fairytale related (eg. bitten apple, pillow, wands, tiara, witch hat etc).
