My precious moments in April 09...
So I turned 26th this month.. For the first time in many many years, I was away from close friends and my family on this day. Mummy used to buy me a cake on some of my bdays, though she doesn't eat cakes at all. And well, I miss that so much. And the badz gals never failed to celebrate my bday for me. We would always have nice gatherings. Last year on 7th April, I still remembered we went to Kbox and had such a blast!!
But well, they told me sometimes some of the most simple things in life are the most memorable. Well, I guess I absolutely agree on that. It doesn't have to take much to build a precious moment. So long as we put in their hearts and show our love in a simple way, so what if it's only just one person there in front of you. So yeah, I had a most simple but still happy and memorable bday celebration with jw this year. With a yummy slice of cheesecake to top it off. =p Hee. I love cheesecakes!
And since three days after my bday came easter holidays, jw and I had a nice and relaxed time in our home, in Kalmar and Goteburg. We visited the castle in Kalmar. I thought we would be able to see more of the interior! Haha. Alas it was just a short walk around the garden and the mainly the exterior of it. Well, still it was a good first time experience, I guess. =) Seems like a good place to nua and picnic. Hee.
After spending a short afternoon in Kalmar on Saturday, not to mention resting for a full day on Friday, we decided to be more adventurous and travel further on Sunday. Hee. So yeah. Goteburg, here we come!! It's the second largest city in Sweden!! So despite the fear that majority of the shops will still be closed on Easter Monday, we still drove for over 5 hours to reach the town. And yeah, we spent a nice 2D1N there.
Shopping, eating, sightseeing, photo-taking, casino visiting, we did all we could in the short span of time we had. It's always a nice feeling to explore a new place, even though it might not be that exciting or fun-filled as you had hoped for, but the thrill and anticipation is always there to make you feel happy. =)
We stayed in Hotel Royal, as probably two of the few guests who were there that night. Hee. Still, it was a comfy place and we had a nice breakfast the second morning too. Before we headed to town for more shopping and photo-taking. Hee.
I told jw I loved the night scene at this spot. He said he didn't see anything special bout it. Haha. But well, isn't our photo nice afterall? It's the lightings that made it nice mah. Hee.
Moving on, it was our 1st wedding anniversary yesterday. Yeah. 26th April. The day we became hubby and wifey!! Although jw was busy with soccer in the morning and an event at night, we still spent a good 2 hours in the afternoon, just the two of us, out under the bright warm sun. Guess what we did? Yeah, we did what we had planned to! Go for a picnic! Hee. I have never picnic-ed in S'pore, or not that I can recall of. Jw says so hasn't he. Waha. So it was sort of our first picnic I guess. =p And well, I wasn't sure of what to pack for the outing, so I prepared sandwiches, fruits, a bottle of milo, a mat, some Hello Panda snacks and out we went!!
Jw brought me to a nice spot for picnics. There were several other families around the area. Seems like they really love picnics here. =) And since it's getting warmer nowadays, I guess it's really a good activity to engage in. =) We found a nice spot, with a pit and benches to sit on, and facing the sea! Woohoo. So jw started the fire to keep us warm and keep the bugs away.
And then we tucked in into our yummy sandwiches! They tasted so much better like that than when eaten at home. Haha. Simple omelette sandwiches and ham & cheese sandwiches. But oh well, I loved the melted cheddar cheese!!~ *drools*
We also brought along fruits and it was then a sparrow came hopping near us and we started feeding it with bread and fruits. Hee. Bird feeding time! =) I can't really describe the feeling, but it was a moment of serenity, love, peace, everything all twined into one. All in all, it was a great moment. Eating sandwiches, drinking milo, feeling the warm fire, playing mandarin pop songs in the background on my phone, watching the birds hopping around, feeling the warm sunlight, everything was perfect. =) Simple, but wonderful.
After we finished eating, we started on our 'Piggy' masterpiece. Wahaha. It was this piggybank that we bought from Maxi, but the special thing is you are given 12 water colours and a brush and you can feel free to design your own special piggybank such that it is the one and only in the world. Jw thought of painting it together and served as a prezzie for me. Well, I guess it was a brilliant idea after all. Because painting a piggy together at this perfect moment in time was something that few other ideas can beat, I guess.
So, from ground zero, we started painting Piggy bit by bit. Each of us took a side of its body, and jw took the front while I took the back. Keke. I gave it a rainbow butt. Wahaha. And jw gave it a cheeky wink. =) Kawaii ne!! We took turns painting it, and it was so fun to see the other party so engrossed in the painting as we snapped picture after picture. Keke.
So ta-dah! After 1hr or so, our dear piggy is done!!~ wonder why the ears are blue, but oh well, haha, that makes it special I guess. =) We wrote our names on it too. Waha.
So, April was a good month for us. =) And along with it came more precious moments to lock in that memory drawer of ours. Looking forward to our future wedding anniversaries, cos' every April 26 will always be a very, very special day for both of us. Tata!
